CTM participates in the III International Water Footprint Seminar in Colombia

Last 19th March the Fundació CTM Centre Tecnològic participated in the III International Water Footprint Seminar that took place in the Hotel San Fernando Plaza de Medellín (Colombia). The objective of the seminar was the interchange of knowledge in relation to the evolution, application and standardization of the Water Footprint concept at a business and territorial level. Furthermore, the seminar highlighted different examples of good practices for the management of water in different industrial sectors. In addition to this, during the seminar were presented the results and tools developed in the project SuizAgua Colombia.

Even though water is a renewable resource essential for life, there is an increasing shortage of its availability due to global warming and population growth. Here lies the importance of unifying global efforts for the management and efficient use of the water resource through different methodologies such as water footprint.

The Water Footprint makes it possible to know, understand and evaluate the use and impact of the different uses of water (consumption and contamination) in the generation process of products or services, depending on the place and type of process.

CTM participated in the following lectures given by José Jorge Espí Gallart, researcher of the Environmental Technology Area of CTM:

Reducción de la Huella Hídrica: tecnologías de recirculación y re uso
Reducción de la Huella Hídrica: buenas prácticas en la industria
