PROCESSES: OPTIMISATION OF THE INDUSTRIAL FORMING PROCESSES
As a result of the knowledge developed in the characterisation of the behaviour of materials at hot temperatures and collaborating with the Areas of Materials Technology and Numerical Simulation of CTM, the centre is working on the simulation and optimisation of numerous industrial forming problems. Problems in processes such as:
- Continuous casting processes (handcraft and mould)
- Lamination
- Forging
- Extrusion
- Stretching
- Cladding
- Stamping
- Spinning and cylindrical and conical lamination
- Electromagnetic forming
Most of these processes are developed at high temperatures but some of them, such as stamping and stretching are developed at cold ones. We must highlight the study that CTM is carrying out and which seeks to improve the definition of the elastic recovery by including the variations presented by the modulus of Young during the deformation itself.
