CTM Centre Tecnològic has organised the Kick-off meeting of the European Project TailorTool which took place at Manresa. The objective of this project will be to provide the Automotion sector of the whole of Europe with important advances and advantages. The international projection of this project is expected to promote Europe´s leadership in this sector.

In the meeting different subjects such as the initial progress of the project where discussed. Also, the future working guidelines for the members of the consortium were set.

Mr. José Manuel Prado, General Manager of CTM Centre Tecnològic will present the paper "numerical simulation in the design of forming processes" within the frame of the "Simposio sobre I+D+i de nuevos productos. Comprobación y confirmación del proceso de desarrollo" (Symposium on R+D+I of new products. Checkout and confirmation of the development process), organised by the Forum Permanente de Automoción which will take place on the 27th and 28th of January 2010 at the Casa Llotja de Mar in Barcelona.

The approach of Prado´s conference will be to explain the possibilities which simulation of finite elements offers at present for the design of new forming processes by plastic deformation.

CTM´s unit of bioengineering (TECNIO) with the support of the Area of Materials Technology and the Area of Simulation and Innovative Design, will carry out the project IMMEDIAT-OS.

The project IMMEDIAT-OS will mean a revolution in the field of implantology since it will make it possible to develop immediate-load implants; in other words, it will make it possible to develop implants which are placed simultaneously with the prosthesis and which have higher benefits than the present ones.
