ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY: ALTERMO

Is a two-year collaborative Project with a budget of 2 million Euros. It focuses on the development of new high thermal conductivity steels so as to improve the aluminium injection process. This project is coordinated by CTM and counts with the participation of a consortium of 4 companies and 4 Research and Innovation Centres. The project carries out research into the development of new steels, new thermal treatments, new metallic coatings for these steels and finally, the characterisation and optimisation of the process and of the aluminium injection moulds. The consortium is lead by the company ROVALMA, leader in the development of tools steels, and counts with the participation of TTC, Flubetech and Gearbox del Prat. CTM takes part in the tasks of simulation of the aluminium injection process; characterisation of tool steels; analysis of the defects and characterisation of the aluminium pieces injected, and in the research into the thermal treatments necessary for this new kind of steel.
