MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY: IMMEDIAT-OS
Is a two-year project from the Núcleo Estratégico de lnnovación Cooperativa (ACC1Ó, CIDEM-COPCA) with a budget of 1.26 million Euros. The project focuses on the development of immediate charge dental implants with osteoinductive surfaces and biological sealing. This project coordinated by CTM counts with the participation of a consortium of three companies and 3 Research and Innovation Centres. The project is led by the company KLOCKNER which is the leading manufacturing company of dental implants as well as of different accessories used in dental implantology and restoration and it counts with the participation of TTC (Thermal Treatments Carreras) and Talleres Mecánicos Comas.
CTM participates in tasks of design through simulation by the finite elements method and of preparation and characterisation of bioactive coatings by Physical Vapour Deposition techniques (PVD). The Centre de Projecció Tèrmica of the Universitat de Barcelona (www.cptub.es) and the Grup de Biomaterials, Biomecànica i Enginyeria de Teixits (BIBITE) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya,(http://www.upc.edu/cmem/recerca/Biomaterials%20biomecanica%20i%20enginyeria%20de%20teixits) constitute the rest of the research groups of this Project.
