Obtaining CaCO3 particles by the dry-way through mechanical grinding

This project (financed by the CDTI) which is being carried out by the company Reverteminerals S.A, seeks to find processes for obtaining CaCO3 nanoparticles with the aim of improving its optical properties. Physical properties experiment great variations with the reduction of the size of particles. In general these variations still have to be determined but we expect them to be of application to specific industrial processes almost immediately. At the same time, the project proposes different ways for obtaining compounds which come from CaCO3 and which are obtained by mechanosynthesis. Apart from a nanometric particle size, these compounds present optical properties which show an improvement in comparison to those of the initial material.
