MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY: NOFALLEU

The general objective of the project consists of developing a new methodology for predicting the behaviour in fatigue of various materials (FB600, CP800 and TRYP DUAL) taking into account the manufacturing processes and during the design stages of car bodywork components.

In order to achieve this general objective, the following specific objectives have been set:
  • Optimise the design of the pieces that have to be manufactured based on test-tube studies that simulate their critical points.

  • Select various qualities of steel (FB600, CP800 and TRYP DUAL) so that most of the materials used for the manufacture of parts for the car bodywork are taken into account.

  • Achieve designs with less thickness that apart from contributing to the reduction of the weight and improving the behaviour at impact tests, they maintain or even increase the mechanical properties with the subsequent environmental benefit in terms of reduction of the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

  • Achieve the conditions set by the manufacturers in the least possible time.

  • Increase the knowledge of the companies that form the consortium with regards the new methodology for the analysis of the behaviour of materials in fatigue.

  • To consolidate the position of AUTOTECH and TECMAR2000 in the avant-garde of technology with the development of this new analysis methodology so as to predict the behaviour in fatigue of the pieces in the design stages.
