ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY: VIECO
Is a two-year duration collaborative project with a budget of approximately 2 million Euros. It is orientated to the monitoring of the quality of water of the Catalan rivers. This project lead by AGBAR and CETAQUA counts with the participation of CTM´s Area of Environmental Technology. The project carries out a research into new methods for monitoring the state of the water of the rivers, not according to chemical parameters but to biological ones, and trying to control the kinds of vegetal and animal species which proliferate in particular areas of the rivers. By analysing the kind of species and their demographical evolution for a period of time, it can be stated if the river is gradually degrading. This project lead by AGBAR counts with the participation of different Catalan companies. CTM´s Area of Environmental Technology is in charge of the development of tools for the evaluation of the risks of toxicity in aquatic ecosystems.
